Alabama Hills, Lone Pine, May 23rd to May 26th, 2017
Come and join us for a fun 3 days, or just one day if you want. The Alabama Hills are just 10 mins from Lone Pine and are famous for being used for many film locations, even Star Trek! They spread for many miles and are mostly accessible by car.
For just $39 this is a GREAT deal!
Bob Fletcher will be our host and he will take us to some of the great locations to photograph. This is not a structured workshop, but a get-together of photographers, so any images you create may be used for competition!!
Just a 20-minute drive up the hill from where we will be staging is the start of the trail up to Mount Whitney. There is a parking lot here with a terrific long waterfall. Many people miss this as it’s hidden away if you don’t look. On the way up you can get amazing shots of Mt. Whitney and Lone Pine Peak.
We will be photographing the Bristlecone Pines in Bristlecone Park and Schulman Grove. Some of these trees are over 5,000 years old – yes, 5,000 and still growing, even though they look dead. They are beautiful specimens for photography, all knurled and twisted!
We will do some night shots of the trees and some star shots in the Alabama Hills with Mobius Arch. Bob will also show us some other neat locations.
You can camp, (we will have a camp site, but there are no facilities). There is no fee for camping as it’s all BLM land. Bring an RV or a tent or stay in a hotel in Lone Pine, only 10 mins from where we will be based. I’ve booked into the Dow Villas, a place I’ve stayed before and just $90 a night.
Check out the itinerary and other information in the registration area.
This is limited to 15 persons!
