Steve’s journey began during his senior year in college. He was attending on a scholarship which, much to his dismay did not include beer and pizza money. To alleviate the situation Steve began using the 35mm camera he received as a high school graduation present to earn some extra cash shooting portraits of fellow students.
As a business major with an emphasis on marketing, Steve never intended to pursue a career in photography. One thing led to another, portraits of fellow students turned into their weddings and their friend’s weddings and portraits. Before long Steve was spending every weekend behind the camera and every night fulfilling orders.
Skip ahead twenty-five-plus years. Steve is now a Senior Product Manager for a large, multi-national corporation and continues to shoot family portraits and weddings full time.
In 2004 Steve and his wife Lee converted a substantial portion of their home into a place of business… shooting room, office, sales room, everything you’d find in a small brick and mortar business, minus the overhead. In doing so, Steve switched from a location-based business to a studio-based business and photographed his last wedding. In 2010 at his wife’s insistence, he left corporate America and now has only one full-time career.
Steve joined PPA and PPSV in 2008, earned his CPP designation in 2010 and his Craftsman degree in 2014. In 2011 and 2012 he earned PPSV’s Photographer of the Year awards in Landscape, Nature, Commercial and Open Illustrative categories. He recently won PPSV’s Portrait Photographer of the year for 2015. He served three terms as President of PPSV, six years as a PPA Certification Liaison, is serving his second year as PPSV Treasurer and is currently a PPA Councilor. He’s also served on the board of directors of his local chamber of commerce and on the boards of other local not-for-profit associations.
When not in the studio shooting for clients, he enjoys photographing nature and wildlife and spends several weeks each year on the road.

Pete Rezac, a portrait photographer based in Reno, Nevada, still chooses to work with medium and large format cameras and film in creating his fine art portraiture because of the tactile process it provides him in creating his work, along with the rich tones and high fidelity of the photographs that come from these tools. Seeking an authentic look to his children character portraits, Pete was inspired to create timeless portraits showing children at their best. This work has earned him numerous accolades from the photographic community.
Pete holds the Master of Photography, Photographic Craftsman, and Certified Professional Photographer degrees from the Professional Photographers of America. He is also a PPA approved Certified Professional Photographer Exam Preparation class instructor and active educator teaching and mentoring other professional photographers
throughout the United States. Pete is also a Professional Photographers of America print juror in training and working towards the goal of becoming an affiliated judge.

Sandra Harris has been in business in Sacramento for over 50 years.
Sandra started in business with her husband, Dave, as ‘kidnappers’. That term was used because the photographers had people knocking on the doors, selling coupons when the children were napping. The business gradually developed photographing not only children but also family groups, and high school seniors and weddings. Sandra recalls one weekend they had 6 weddings scheduled, 3 on Saturday and 3 on Sunday. She vowed they’d never do that again! At one time Harris Studio had two studio locations; one in the southern part of Sacramento and one in the northern region.
Sandra is still photographing weddings, family groups, debutante balls and real estate head shots.
She is a PPA Craftsman. PPA Councilperson. She has received the PPC Paul Kennedy Award, PPA National Award, and PPC Hall of Fame Award.
She is a Past President of PPC, Past President of PPSV and current Secretary of PPSV. She was PPC registration chair for
several years and was crowned Queen of the Convention by John Goolsby when he was president.
Sandra keeps active by being an officer of Reveilliers’ Toastmasters, doing genealogical research for people all over the world, acting as a lector for her church and playing racquetball 5 times a week. She has a mean serve – ask her partners.
