General Information
About Professional Photographers of California’s West Coast School
West Coast School, founded in 1956, is operated by the Professional Photographers of California, Inc. One of the goals of the WCS Board is to take WCS on location. With this new direction, photographers will be able to attend specialized classes without taking too much time away from their business. Stay in contact with the PPC website for updates on NEW West Coast School education events.
West Coast School is part of the PPA Continuing Education System and awards two achievement merits to PPA members upon successful completion of a full week course. PPA will award one achievement merit upon successful completion of a two day program. Professional Photographers of California members may earn points towards the Business and Arts Degree.
General Information and Policies
Class sizes are limited and admissions are accepted on a first come, first serve basis. Payment for all courses is due at time of registration.

Withdrawal/Cancellation/Refund Policies
For our Week Long Session: Withdrawal from a course is subject to a minimum $50.00 nonrefundable administration fee. The balance of the tuition may be returned if requested in writing by the designated date schedule. West Coast School reserves the right to cancel courses, make faculty changes, or refuse admission to any student. In case a course is canceled, the student will have the option of registering for another course (subject to availability) or receiving a full refund.

April 22nd - May 21st ~ $100 Penalty
May 22nd - June 1st ~ $200 Penalty
After June 1st ~ No Refund
For our On Location Sessions: Withdrawl from this course is allowed only if there is a waiting list for these events. A $30 nonrefundable adminsitration fee will be charge. The balance of the tuition will be returned as long as your space can be resold to the next on the waiting list. Reasonable accommodations will be made upon advance request for persons with disabilities. If assistance is required, please contact us by phone or email at least 30 days before the start of school.
Class Schedule/Hours
The week long classes begin at 9:00am on Monday and end at 12:30pm on Friday. Check-in, for housed students, is on Sunday beginning at 3:00pm at the designated resident hall. For those students who are not staying on-site, check in begins at 4:30pm on Sunday. An Opening Social begins at 5:30pm and includes dinner. Orientation begins at 7:00pm and an Inspirational Program follows. Class Hours are Monday – Thursday from 9:00am to 5:30pm and Friday from 9:00am to 12:30pm. Waiver of Liability
The Professional Photographers of California’s West Coast School shall have no responsibility or liability for personal injury to any participant or loss or damage to any participant’s property, or for personal injuries or damage to the property of another person resulting from the participant’s involvement in any workshop or school activity. The Professional Photographers of California’s West Coast School shall have no responsibility for the acts, errors or omissions of instructors, staff, or other providers of service to participants during the school.
