The benefits of being a member of the Professional Photographers of California are many and include:

• Western States Convention
  Discounted registration to the annual Pro Photo Expo held in Pasadena. This is the best convention on the West Coast. It includes five days of programs, events, trade show, social gatherings and almost a 1,000 images on display to inspire you, all for a low price.
• Annual Education Opportunities at West Coast School
  One of the finest photographic schools in the nation, West Coast School, is held annually at the beautiful campus of the University of San Diego and includes five days of education with some of the nation’s top educators. This is a chance to receive cutting edge information, re-charge your creative juices, network with other photographers and pick the brains of all instructors in an atmosphere of learning, social events and incredible architecture.
• Quarterly Publication
  Pro Photo West magazine is mailed to members every quarter and is full of images, articles and “how-to’s” from top educators. 
• Annual Print Competition
  The best way to improve your craft is by competing in the Annual Print Competition. Your images will be judged and critiqued, by experienced Professional Photographers of America qualified judges. Many different award possibilities. Professional Photographer of California’s Photographer of the Year is a highly respected award. To win this award, a photographer must have the highest case score of all their entered prints! Also awarded are: Fuji Masterpiece Award, Kodak Gallery Award, and Judge’s Choice, along with Best of Category. If you are a Professional Photographer of America member, you will have a chance to win a medal at our competition. This medal earns an automatic merit if entered in the PPA competition. Members interested in pursuing the Professional Photographer of California Fellowship medal can continue in this competition and receive recognition. The cost of the competition is a fraction of the fee that other associations charge with no additional add-on fees.
• Insurance and Merchant Services Programs
  Many types of insurance programs for health, disability, equipment and liability are available. We also have a Merchant Services provider for your credit card processing.  These benefits are a priority for the Board of Professional Photographers of California.  Keep watch in the members only section as they will be added to on a regular basis. 
• Business and Arts Degree
  A Business and Arts degree, government accredited. Previous education can be used to start off this degree.
• Find a Photographer Referral Program
  Prospective buyers of photography can access our Membership Directory to Find a Photographer. Referrals to members in their area, knowing that they will be dealing with a business with integrity, ethical practices, creativity and the passion to produce the image the client wants.
