The class will combine comprehensive information on studio lighting with live demonstrations using lights and various modifiers. Starting from the basic properties of light: quality, direction, quantity and color I will introduce lighting concepts and discuss various types of studio lights and light modifier such as softboxes, umbrellas and grids. I will show practical, easy setups for low key and high key portraiture and expand into more elaborate lighting scenarios. There will be room for questions and special requests. Participants will have the chance to photograph themselves and to share the results with the group.
